Sony Xperia L model follows in the footsteps of last year’s Xperia U, coming up with an improved design and a compelling package of facilities that we can enjoy without sacrificing an excessive amount of money. Part of the second series conducted under its own brand of smartphone, the Xperia L completes the offer of its predecessor with a larger screen and higher resolution sensor of the camera, twice more RAM and expandable storage space, adding a 1750 mAh battery which should increase autonomy.
Design
Sony Xperia L is presented in an ergonomic body, narrower towards the center to increase comfort when held in hand and pointed at the bottom for easy slipping into narrow pockets. Viewed from the front, the Xperia L does not have the clear tape brought by the previous series of phones, but keeps a multicolored LED system used for notifications, moved into black plastic frame that separates the screen visible from the side chrome trim. The area gained is used to accommodate the 4.3 inch screen, made using a matrix TFT LCD with 228 ppi density, corresponding to the resolution of 480×854 pixels. Under the mineral glass shield we can see a VGA front camera.
Accessories Included
Being a smartphone in entry-level range, Xperia L hasn’t wasted budget in extravagant accessories. We receive a headset, an AC 850 mAh adapter equipped with USB port, microUSB data cable used to power your phone and transfer data.
Usability
Sony Xperia L impresses with well-lit screen, capable of rendering high quality images despite the use of rather modest resolutions. As disadvantages, viewing angles are not very large, rapidly decreasing in brightness perceived if you don’t look straight ahead. Anti-reflection is good enough for use in well lit, areas but it fails to hide traces of fingerprints for a long time, requiring periodic cleaning of the screen.
Performance in Synthetic Tests
Aided by the Snapdragon MSM8230 chipset equipped with dual-core 1GHz CPU and Adreno 305 GPU, Sony Xperia L is doing quite well in synthetic tests, although performances on the CPU are not particularly impressive.

· Quadrant – 4179 (CPU 6503, Mem 6737, I / O 4659, 2D 1006 3D 1989)
· GFXBench 2.7.2 (T-Rex HD) – Offscreen 5.0 fps, 13 fps Onscreen
· Vellamo (HTML5) – 1662

Camera
Equipped with a 8MP camera and autofocus sensor, Sony Xperia L manages to get clear pictures, well exposed and with an acceptable noise level. The color palette used is rich
Autonomy
Although it has a fairly large battery, Xperia L can be put in difficulty by the 4.3 inch screen and the not exactly new chipset. So, with an hour of phone calls every day and constant access to the internet via WI-FI, screen brightness automatically adjusted, Xperia L gives about two days of mobility. Including Android game sessions can reduce autonomy at least one day, especially if the screen brightness is left at a high level.
