It is said that human beings are creatures of emotions, we laugh, we cry, we worry, and there is a plethora of emotions we go through on a daily basis. They all show on our faces and stay recorded in small wrinkles, spots, the tone and look of our skin. In addition, our faces are exposed to the sun, UV rays, hot and cold weather, toxins from the environment and these are all unhealthy. Our skin gets tired just like we do and is in need of care, rest and rejuvenation. Luckily, nowadays we have many options for facial rejuvenation available to us, and here we mention just a few.
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is a facial in which a chemical solution is applied to your skin and it works by removing the skin’s top layers thus reducing sun damage, pigmentation and wrinkles. There are many different chemical peels with regards to their ingredients and strength. Lighter peels rejuvenate the skin whereas stronger peels remove wrinkles and lines. If you have never done a peel or if you have sensitive skin, you can start with the almond peel. It is gentle and doesn’t cause any discomfort, and it is very effective in the treatment of acne. One of the most popular peels is Glycolic peel, and some others are Salicylic peel, TCA peel and Jessner peel. They are all excellent for skin hydration and work wonderfully for problematic skin.
Microdermabrasion
This procedure is popular because it is non-invasive, fast, painless and highly efficient. It is done by spraying tiny crystals onto the skin which then fall off the surface of the skin under pressure, mechanically removing the surface skin layers. It is very successful in reducing enlarged pores, age spots, small wrinkles, in improving skin tone and texture and the skin is visibly better and smooth in 4 to 6 treatments done once a week.
IPL Photofacial
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light and is one of the newer treatments. This laser treatment is done by directing strong light and heat to the skin which initiates a therapeutic effect. It does cause a mild skin irritation and pinching but aloe vera gel is applied to the skin to soothe it. Several sessions might be needed for best results, but this procedure works well in addressing the effects of sun damage, aging, pigmentation, freckles, rosacea, facial veins and enlarged pores.
Topical Treatments
Nowadays, there is a wide variety of skin care products available to you and you would have to try them out to see if they work for you. They may take a long time to show any results. There are many DIY facial remedies you can use, usually made of master antioxidant foods and plants like berries, green tea, honey, lemon, and oats.
Even though you can apply a variety of products and lotions, DYI masks, professional skin care is something you should consider as well, there is probably a good facial rejuvenation clinic in your town and consulting them might give you better results and healthier, younger looking skin in the long run.
